International Exchange

The School of Humanities　at the University of Toyama encourages students to study abroad. We provide various systems such as a credit transfer system in order to help students who study abroad. They can use these systems when they study at not only Novosibirsk State University(Russia), which has a friendship with our School, and those in China, Korea, Russia, America, Egypt and so on, which also have friendships with our university, but at other universities and so on.

At the same time, the School of Humanities willingly accepts international students. They are able to take the same classes that Japanese students take, so they can study their major as well as the Japanese language. Also, we have a tutor system which was set up in order to help international students to study and live in Japan. In this system, Japanese students keep in touch with international students one on one and help them to concentrate on studying without distraction. For Japanese students, this system can be a valuable opportunity to experience continued communication with students from all over the world.

In addition, the School of Humanities has courses that focus on the language, culture, and history of areas such as China, Russia and Korea in order to facilitate the cultural exchanges that have recently begun. We are trying to play a leadership role in providing study and education opportunities about the region　surrounding the Sea of Japan.
